The Department of Materials Science and NanoEngineering (MSNE) at Rice University and ASM International, formerly known as the American Society of Metals, will sponsor a career panel for students.

The April 5 event will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. in Room 117 in Anderson Hall, and is open to all.

“The panelists will introduce our students to technology and career opportunities in the metal industry. This is an industry sector our students may not be familiar with but which has great importance to Houston’s economy,” said Ming Tang, associate professor of MSNE.

The scheduled panelists are Carly Antonucci of Timken Steel, Marco Deuterio of Special Quality Alloys, Adam Dyer of OneSubsea, John Hadjioannou of Ethos Engineering and Testing, Ben Kingsley of U.S. Bolt and Sonika Robertson of Oxford Instruments NanoAnalysis.

The event will include presentations and a question-and-answer session, and the panelists will introduce students to ASM and the benefits of joining the local chapter.
