Two doctoral students in materials science and nanoengineering (MSNE) at Rice University are recipients of highly competitive awards from the Materials Research Society (MRS).
Qiyi Fang received a best poster award for his work titled “Superior Mechanical Properties of Multi-Layer Covalent-Organic-Frameworks Enabled by Rationally Tuning Molecular Interlayer Interactions.”
Boyu Zhang was awarded a graduate student silver award for his research, “3D Printed Silica with Nanoscale Resolution.”
The MRS Graduate Student Awards honor and encourage graduate students whose academic achievements and materials research display a high level of excellence.
Both are members of the research group at Rice headed by Jun Lou, professor of MSNE and Chemistry. The students received the awards at the annual fall meeting of MRS, held Nov. 27-Dec. 2 in Boston.
