Materials engineering at Rice tied for 27th, up one spot from last year, among the nation’s top graduate programs in the 2023 U.S. News and World Report ranking.
This marks the fourth year in a row in which the program has placed in the top 30 in the category of “Best Graduate Schools (Engineering, Materials).” Among private universities, the materials engineering program at Rice ranked 10th.
The annual assessment is based on evaluations by department chairs at peer engineering schools.
