The Department of Materials Science and NanoEngineering offers research experience for students enrolled our Professional Master’s Program (MMSNE). Here's what's involved:
- Each student will have a faculty mentor who will guide them through a summer research project.
- Selected students will participate in a 3-month (40 hours per week) program from with a $6,000 stipend paid semi-monthly.
- During the summer, students attend weekly group meetings with respective research groups and faculty mentors to participate in research activities with the other graduate students and postdocs.
- Participants will have an opportunity to work closely with a MSNE faculty member in an area of interest, such as Nanotechnology, Energy Conversion and Storage, Metallurgy, Surfaces, Interfaces, and more.
Open Positions & Eligibility
We have three open positions:
- Summer Internships: Two available positions for current MMSNE students. Start date is flexible, but end date is August 15.
- Research Assistant: Available to a MMSNE post-graduate student finish in May and has applied for OPT. The MSNE department is flexible with the starting date.
All applicants must be in good academic standing.
