The department of Materials Science and NanoEngineering at Rice University, established in 2013, brings together faculty engaged in research and teaching in the fields of materials science and nanotechnology. Historically, Rice has been a powerhouse in nanotechnology and has consistently ranked high in materials research. The focus of the new department is providing superior education and research opportunities to undergraduate and graduate students in these disciplines. We wish to create a center of excellence in materials science and nanoengineering through exceptional teaching, research and industry partnerships. We welcome all interested in these fields to join with us and become part of the endeavor.
With best wishes,
